Surgery center increases new business by 36%

Situation:
An ambulatory surgery center located in suburban Maryland was experiencing a decline in case volume, and needed to reverse the downward trend. The center's primary goals: create an awareness of the center, position it as the premier ambulatory facility among the medical community and ultimately increase case volume.

Strategy:
FourPoint’s strategy focused on attracting new physicians to the center by improving the center's internal operations, retaining and training appropriate personnel, and creating top-of-mind awareness. An integrated communications campaign program was implemented to position the center as the facility of choice in the community. FourPoint continually monitored results and adjusted programs to ensure a maximum return on investment.

Results:
Within six months, there was increased awareness and interest in the surgery center. A Physician Liaison was hired and trained to execute the strategic plan. 14 new physicians were credentialed and were performing cases at the center. And, the alarming dip in case volume was reversed with a 36% increase in new physician utilization.
